Craig Halkett: Hearts defender out for 10 weeks with knee injury

Hearts defender Craig Halkett has been ruled out for about 10 weeks with a knee injury, director Craig Levein has confirmed.
The centre-back was forced last weekend during the goalless draw with St Mirren off and scans have revealed ligament damage has been suffered by him.
Halkett was a fixture in the side in the campaigns first phases of Levein, scoring four goals at the Scottish League Cup and making 12 appearances in all tasks.
Levein said:Weve a fair idea, it will be about approximately ten months . however, it may be less or slightly more. Its disappointing on a variety of fronts, obviously for ourselves since hes been doing well, and because he has been performing well.
Following the midfielder was forced off in St Mirren with a issue, hearts are likely to function as Loic Damour for Saturdays visit of Kilmarnock.
He has not trained this week so thats an indication that he could struggle for tomorrow, Levein stated. The plan is that he will do something today and then well need to see whether there is a response tomorrow before we can make a choice.
Sky Sports has confirmed its range of live Scottish Premiership games for December and November, using the Edinburgh derby featured in a schedule over the period and all the Old Firm match.
Hearts host neighbors Hibs on Boxing Day before Scottish champions Celtic entertain Glasgow rivals Rangers on December 29, equally 12.30pm kick-offs.
