Kevin Bond resigns as Southend United boss after six defeats to open season

Southend United have accepted the resignation of Kevin Bond after a horrible start to this 2019-20 year old.
The Shrimpers have dropped their League One games and sit in place, for moving into government, with Bolton below them due to their deduction.
Chairman Ron Martin satisfied with Bond on Friday morning and meeting concluded tendering his resignation.
Bond helped guide Southend on the 2018-19 campaign’s afternoon to security and had taken charge at Roots Hall in April.
“Kevin is a true professional coach with huge experience in the business. His accomplishments in keeping the club League One final season needs to be acknowledged and will be remembered from the club’s fans,” Martin stated.
“Regrettably the euphoria experienced in the end of last season has not translated into the pitch up to now this season.
“But I remain confident that the players we’ve got at Southend United, for instance, strong signings made by Kevin Bond, will enable a successful season under the guidance of a new supervisor.
“The hunt for that individual commences today.”
